Teacher Math & Science Workshops
Supported by Space Florida & the NASA/Florida Space Grant Consortium
Space Florida & the NASA/Florida Space Grant Consortium invite Florida Teachers (Grades 4-9) to attend 5-day Workshops at the Center for Space Education, the Kennedy Space Center (KSC). These workshops provide opportunities for Florida Teachers to learn Inquiry-Based Science and Math activities for use back in the classroom. Teachers will also experience what it is like to be an aerospace scientist/engineer for a week while working on the design and building techniques required to launch a scientific payload on a weather balloon, set to soar to 100,000 feet (20 miles high) These workshops are free to Florida Teachers. Applicants must be U.S. citizens. Applications are now being accepted for these 5-day workshops, set for summer '08.
"The Florida Teachers will work on real-world science and engineering projects, exposing them to problem solving experiences and team building activities". Dr. Larry Chew, (UCF) Space Florida Education Consultant
