Company Selection Criteria:
1. Development Stage: The Forum seeks companies that are entering or in their commercialization phase. This phase of a company’s development cycle is normally characterized by the transformation of a technology and/or business concept into a viable commercial business enterprise. Typically investment funding at this stage is sought to finance expanded management staffing, company infrastructure, operations, and sales and marketing.
2. Management: Companies should have fully committed leadership whose primary focus is upon the development and growth of the business venture.
3. Business Planning: Companies should have completed the business planning process and have documents available for review by potential investors that fully describe the relevant market and financial aspects of the venture.
4. Equity Investment: The company should be ready for outside equity capital investment, to further the development of the business venture. The company’s development should have progressed to the point that potential investors can conduct reasonable due diligence and evaluate the investment opportunity on primarily business terms. Typically, companies at this stage of commercialization seek between $500,000 and $2,000,000 in a “Series A” investment round.
