Today, we honor the legacy and bravery of the Apollo 1 crew of Gus Grissom, Edward White and Roger Chaffee. Fifty years ago, these courageous astronauts made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of space exploration in the United States’ quest for a lunar landing. Exploration and curiosity is not and will never be without risk. On this anniversary, Space Florida remembers the Apollo 1 crew, and forever thank them for their role and heroism in America’s space program.
