Space Florida and Cross U Sign MOU at Space Symposium to Drive International Collaboration and Innovation

EXPLORATION PARK, Fla.—April 8, 2025—Space Florida, the state’s aerospace finance and development authority, and Cross U, a leading global platform based in Japan for technology transfer and international business expansion, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Japanese Pavilion at Space Symposium to collaborate and enhance innovation, and facilitate the growth of Florida’s international aerospace ecosystem.   

Through this MOU, Space Florida and Cross U will work together to facilitate the sharing of cutting-edge aerospace technologies and attract international companies to expand their footprint in Florida’s expanding space ecosystem. 

“Space Florida continues to lead in identifying strategic partnerships with nations who together can have a profound impact on global aerospace commerce,” said Rob Long, president and CEO, Space Florida. “The international aerospace industry is projected to grow to $1.8 trillion by 2035, driven by increasing demand for commercial space activities. Partnerships like this are part of how we solidify Florida’s dominance in the global space economy and build upon the pro-business ecosystem Gov. Ron DeSantis has built.”

Alex Kelly. “This MOU is the direct result of several successful trade missions that the Governor, SelectFlorida and Space Florida have led to Japan in recent years—strengthening economic and cultural ties between Florida and Japan.”

Through this collaboration, Space Florida and Cross U will explore joint initiatives, including investment opportunities, research partnerships, and knowledge exchange through its programs. The agreement will also help bridge gaps between international markets and Florida’s aerospace industry, positioning the state as the premier destination for space-related business and development.
